Legal Counsel

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal guidance and ensuring MeducateED's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in the field of online education and healthcare. In addition to protecting MeducateED's intellectual property assets, including course content, branding, and proprietary technologies.

Commitment

This can be a full-time or part-time role, depending on the organization's legal needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review and draft legal agreements, contracts, and policies related to course offerings, partnerships, and operations
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws, intellectual property rights, and healthcare regulations
  • Provide legal advice and risk assessment for new initiatives, projects, and business decisions
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting the online education and healthcare sectors
  • Represent MeducateED in legal proceedings or disputes, as needed
  • Develop and implement strategies for protecting MeducateED's intellectual property
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify potential IP infringements or violations
  • Manage the process of obtaining copyrights, trademarks, and patents as needed
  • Monitor and enforce MeducateED's IP rights, taking appropriate legal actions when necessary
  • Provide guidance and training to teams on IP-related matters and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in law or a related field, with a focus on intellectual property
  • Extensive experience in corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to online education, healthcare, and digital platforms
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of copyright, trademark, and patent laws
  • Experience in IP portfolio management, licensing, and enforcement
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

A high level of English is required for every position. Candidates with prior international experience are strongly preferred.
